Scarborough Marsh is a resting, breeding and feeding ground for many birds in Maine. Waterfowl, egrets, herons, glossy ibis and many species of shorebirds depend on this rich ecosystem for food, a place to rest during migration and, in some cases, nesting habitat.

Wednesday Morning Bird Walk – Weekly walk

The best birding is often early morning when birds are busy feeding. Look and listen for snowy egret, glossy ibis, herons, willet, sparrows and more. Birders of all levels and abilities are welcome to join. This program is led by a variety of bird leaders.

We meet at the Nature Center and check out the birds there and head to local hot spots in Scarborough.  We may hit Pine Point, the Eastern Trail, Pelreco and Dunstan Landing. Registration not required. Please bring exact change.

  • Location: Scarborough Marsh at 7:00am – 8:30am
  • Parking: Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center, 92 Pine Point Road
