Ferry Beach

A sandy beach along the Scarborough River channel, Ferry Beach is somewhat protected from ocean waves by the jetty located on the other side of the channel.
Maintenance: Public beach; the Town maintains the beach area, parking lot, and facilities.

 Pine Point Beach  (Hurd Park) 

A long sandy beach on Saco Bay that extends from the jetty at Pine Point to Old Orchard Beach.
Maintenance: Both public and private with public access; the Town maintains the beach area, parking lot, and facilities. The Town rakes the beach weekly during the summer months.
Hours: Sunrise to sunset
Food/Snack Bar: Concession stand
Trash: Barrels provided
Picnic/B-B-Q Facilities: No
Parking: Municipal parking lot is located at the end of Ferry Rd. (off Black Point Rd.).
Parking lot collection hours from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Parking lot open from sunrise to sunset.
$10/day for passenger cars and motorcycles;
$35/day for RV’s, buses, and campers
End of Day (3 PM to 5 PM) $5 for passenger cars and motorcycles

Boat Access: Municipal boat launch (fees apply)
Surfing: Allowed; limited wave action due to its sheltered area. All surfers must be connected to their board by using a “surfboard leash” 7’ to 10’ in length.
Parking: Municipal parking lot is located on Avenue 5 (off King St.).
Parking lot collection hours from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Parking lot open from sunrise to sunset.

Higgins Beach

Higgins Beach

A sandy beach located within a quaint residential neighborhood that dates back to the late 1800’s.
Maintenance: Private with public access; the Higgins Beach Association and the Town maintain the beach area, parking lot, and facilities.

Higgins Beach

Scarborough Beach State Park

This long and sandy beach offers some of the best swimming in New England with water temps in the high 60’s throughout July and August.
Location: 418 Black Point Road, Scarborough, Maine
Hours: 
April 1 – April 30: 9am – 5pm
May 1 – June 15: 9am – 6pm
June 16 – August 10: 9am – 8pm
August 11 – Sept. 15: 9am – 7pm
Sept. 16 – Sept. 30: 9am – 6pm
Oct. 1 – Oct. 31: 9am – 5pm
Food/Snack Bar: Mainely Burgers serve creative burgers, sandwiches, salads and sides.

Lifeguards: From June 10 through Labor Day, the Park has USLA certified Lifeguards on duty on sunny days.
Parking: Municipal parking lot is located at 41 Ocean Ave. (off Route 77/Spurwink Rd.); limited street parking also available on Bayview Ave., including two designated ADA spaces.
Parking lot collection hours from 9 AM to 5 PM.
